So what is Hypnosis anyway?
It has recently occurred to me after having several conversations about this that Hypnotherapy is still not widely understood and I would LOVE to tell you about it.
I also love metaphors, so here it is…
Most people have a computer, in fact I would venture to guess that just about every household does in fact have one (barring third world countries).
So you get this computer and it’s great but it’s not exactly to your liking. Maybe there’s a program that is malfunctioning, or you want it to be able to do something that it was never programmed to do, or maybe you got a virus that needs to go asap.
Well, most likely that computer can in fact be reprogrammed, but unless you know how to read and write code or you have experience with computer viruses, you will likely want to get that computer to a trained professional who can ensure the safe handling of said computer and help you get it to where you want it to be right?
Your mind is a super computer. Like it or not, your mind was programmed by your caretakers between the ages of 0-7. All those programs and habits and patterns and predispositions that you may be dealing with do in fact have their root in your formative years; and for those of yo who have experienced any sort of trauma, it may actually feel like a mind virus sometimes.
Trauma usually affects all aspects of life. When I was working through my own early childhood trauma I called it a mind virus that I was rooting out. And I did it! The good news is that it can be done!
You just have to find a well trained and intuitive mind programmer who knows what they are doing. Kind of like how you’d want to take your computer to a knowledgable professional right?
With Hypnotherapy, we can take a look at those programs and decide what should go or what new programs to install. We can get to the root of the virus and weed it out. We can program alternatives and even teach the mind how to respond differently to certain stimulus, or how to perform better.
There are literally so many applications of Hypnotherapy there is not enough space to talk about it in one post.
Please contact me if you would like information on how it can work for something specific. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.
